Another Issue to Deal With

In the sprawling city of Los Angeles, the streets were filled with a mix of hope and uncertainty. The recent policies had led to the deportation of many immigrants and the removal of criminals, but for the homeless population, the struggle was far from over. Among them was Sarah, a woman in her late thirties who had been living on the streets for the past year.
Sarah’s life had been a series of unfortunate events. A job loss, a medical emergency, and an eviction had left her with nowhere to go. She had hoped that the new policies would bring some relief, but instead, they had only added to her woes. The city’s focus on deportation and crime had led to increased scrutiny of anyone who appeared out of place, and for Sarah, this meant constant harassment for not having an ID or a home.
One evening, as Sarah sat on a park bench, trying to find some semblance of peace, she was approached by Officer Jenkins. “Ma’am, I’m going to need to see some identification,” he said, his tone stern.
Sarah sighed, knowing what was coming. “I don’t have an ID,” she replied. “I’m homeless.” Officer Jenkins frowned. “You can’t stay here. You’ll have to move along.”
With nowhere else to go, Sarah wandered the streets, feeling more invisible than ever. She found solace in a small community of fellow homeless individuals who understood her plight. Among them was Mark, a former teacher who had also fallen on hard times. Mark had been living on the streets for several years and had become a mentor to many in the community.
“These policies are supposed to make things better, but they just make it harder for us,” Mark said one night as they gathered around a small fire. “We’re still being treated like criminals.”
Sarah said the only real hope that is for President Trump will come thru with his promises and I believe he will, still our struggles are far from over, but at lease the seeds of hope will have been planted, and we like many other homeless are starting to feel that America finally has a President that will hear our voices too, and that will make all the difference.
